Introduction:
Admission of International students to all the Under Graduate/ Post Graduate/ and PhD Degree programmes offered by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) across its 4 campuses (Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati) is facilitated through the Office for International Affairs.
The Office for International Affairs was established in the year 2006 as International Students' Office (ISO) to facilitate mutually beneficial International academic exchange and collaboration between TISS and foreign universities and institutions. OIA has worked proactively to establish these partnerships by assisting/ facilitating drawing up of MoUs/ agreements between TISS and International institutions; developing proposals for collaboration; providing the necessary administrative institutional support to operationalizing these partnerships and collaborations in different capacities.
OIA as a centralized office, takes care of the admission process of international students across campuses. The admission of international students follows a two-step process – (1) Online International Entrance Test (IET) and (2) Online interviews. The detailed information about the processes and rules is provided in the respective section.
The admission of international students to any degree programme is facilitated from Sep to end of March of the respective academic year. Applications for full-time degree programmes are accepted only during the admission process/ period. TISS follows the following Academic calendar
Sem I / Sem III/ Sem V : mid-June to mid-October
Sem II/ Sem IV/ Sem VI : mid-November to end of March
Selected international applicants have to join the academic programme by the first week of June or end of May to complete the official registration processes and compulsorily attend the orientation week.

Each programme is defined by a minimum requirement of total credits to be completed satisfactorily for the purpose of the award of a degree, within a stipulated minimum and the maximum period of study.
