Students will not be allowed to change the selection of the programme after the online interview and/ or declaration of the final result.
Students have to ensure that they have made the right selection of Programme and have read the programme details carefully before applying.
In case a student qualifies for more than 1 programme, they have to inform OIA regarding their Choice within 2-3 days to facilitate the final registration.
Transfer of Admission from one programme/ TISS campus to another will not be allowed after the commencement of the programme. Hence, any such request has to be communicated within a week of receiving the provisional selection information from TISS.
Admission will be offered based on the priority of Programme(s) mentioned by the student in the Online Application form. So applicants have to ensure that they mention the correct programme preference.
Any change in the application form fields/ submission of supporting documents will only be allowed before the commencement of the Online Written Test or as approved by the competent authorities from TISS.
Canvassing in any form and at any stage of the selection processes will lead to disqualification;
If any statement furnished by the student is found incorrect at any time, he/she will be liable to be debarred permanently from the course, and will not be eligible to apply to any other course in the Institute.
Eligibility rules as specified for each course shall be strictly followed and shall not be relaxed under any circumstances. Candidate should satisfy himself/herself that he / she fulfills the eligibility requirements prescribed for the admission to the concerned course of the study.
The Final Admission of International Students will be confirmed only after Verification of Original Certificates, Medical Fitness Test, Psychometric Test and Payment of the required fees.
All International Students (based on nationality/ visa requirements) will have to register their names with the police in the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the local Police station, within 2 weeks of arrival in India.
OIA will help in providing letters and other necessary documents for the FRRO registration/ ID-Card/ Sim-Card/ House-lease etc.
Candidates awaiting the result of qualifying examination may also apply for admission with the clear understanding that their selection will be entitled to admission only if they fulfill all eligibility requirements of the concerned course of study at the time of admission.
Candidate is required to produce the original Mark sheets / Certificates, including the statement of the marks qualifying examinations with the requisite percentage of marks at the time of reporting registration, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to complete the admission, and the offer of admission shall stand cancelled and no further correspondence in the matter shall be entertained.
Mark sheet / Grade sheets/certificates downloaded from the Internet shall not be accepted at the time of admission.
No candidate shall be eligible to pursue a full-time course of study if he/she is already admitted to any full – time course of study in TISS.
Candidates pursuing any full time course of study is required to get his/ her name removed from the rolls of the University / College / Institution where already admitted, and submit a certificate to this effect from the concerned authority at the time of reporting for admission to the course (including evening Courses and Professional Courses under Centre for Professional courses ) for which he/she may have been provisionally selected.
A candidate, who has been admitted provisionally, pending results of the final year examination of the qualifying degree, should procure the final mark-sheet and migration certificate as soon as these are made available after declaration of results, and submit the same to the Academic Section. The last date for submitting these documents is December 30 of the academic year, failing which his/her admission will be canceled. No relaxation will be made to this rule.
Changes, if any, made in the admission rules and/or in the eligibility criteria from time to time shall be applicable to candidates seeking admission in the TISS even after notification.
Admission shall not be transferred from one course of study to another, under any circumstances.
A candidate whose qualifying examination is not recognized by this university shall not be eligible for admission. All such Applicants/admissions shall be rejected/canceled.
No correspondence shall be made to a candidate not selected for admission.
The selected candidate shall be allotted course / Branch / Main Subject / Specialization on merit as per their preference indicated in the Application Form.
All admission shall be provisional.
Selected Candidates shall not be allowed to complete admission formalities in Absentia.
Candidates not reporting for admission on the stipulated date and time shall forfeit his/ her claim for admission. The offer of admission shall stand canceled and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
No candidate shall be admitted unless he/she has completed all the eligibility requirements at the time of admission. Candidates awaiting results of their Supplementary / Improvement examination shall not be considered for admission.
Candidates enjoying 'employed status' and selected for admission to any full – time course of study in the university, are required to produce leave sanction / relieving order at the of admission from their employer for the duration of the course permitting them to peruse their studies at TISS, failing which the offer of admission shall stand withdrawn.
International students will not have to submit any Migration Certificate from their Institution/ University last attended at the time of admission.
The university reserves the right to get any student medically examined and if found medically unfit, the admission of such students will be canceled.
If any error/omission in the processing/verification of certificates/documents of a candidate is detected after the candidate is admitted to a course in TISS, the Institute has the right to cancel such admission at any stage at which error/omission is detected. If it is found, at the stage, that a candidates, a) doesn't not fulfil the eligibility requirements; b) has used fraudulent means to secure admission; c) has made false or incorrect statements in the application form, has not signed / marked thumb impression on the application form or somebody else has done so on his / her behalf. He / She shall not be allowed to complete the admission formalities, or in the case already admitted, his / her admission shall be canceled, ipso facto.
Answer sheets and other relevant material pertaining to the Admission Test of all candidates and Application Forms of all the non – admitted candidates will be weeded out after 03 months of the Closing Date of Admissions. Therefore, in case of any dispute regarding admission, the matter must be filed within 03 months of the closing date of admission after which the relevant records may not be made available.
Each programme leading to the award of a degree comprises a predefined set of courses of study. This may include a number of courses, a research dissertation, internships, and other activities, each of which is assigned specific credits or maybe non-credited, but compulsory. Each programme is defined by a minimum requirement of total credits to be completed satisfactorily for the purpose of the award of a degree, within a stipulated minimum and a maximum period of study.
A student may be allowed to withdraw temporarily from the study programme, provided he/she has successfully completed the first semester or before joining the programme.
A student will have to complete the entire programme within a maximum period of 5 years from the date of admission. This applies to those who are granted temporary withdrawal from the programme, or repeat a semester/ course or appear for supplementary/ improvement examinations. During the ex-tended period, the student will be considered as a private candidate and will not be eligible for ranking and award of prizes.
A student must satisfactorily complete all compulsory requirements, and accumulate the requisite credits as on date of completion of a particular programme in order to become eligible for the degree.
Discipline: All International Students will abide by the rules of the Institute and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian students doing the same programme.
Examination and Award of Degrees and Diplomas:The procedure for examination, payment of examination fees, issue of grade cards, issue of passing certificates and award of degrees will be the same as that for the Indian students doing the same programme.
